.
Winter snow and cold has finally moved in to Maine and I for one am pleased.
It’s winter!
I want snow!
.
.
Our deer are only coming at night now and it’s hard to get pictures through the windows.
.
.
The least bit of movement on their part overwhelms my iPhone’s shutter and results in furry blurry blobs.
.
.
Along with the cold and snow has come the wind, which I could actually do without. Menopausal heating only goes so far, and while I’ll walk outside comfortably in 20 degree weather with only a light shirt… the wind cuts like a knife and even my interior furnace is working overtime.
Just ask this poor cardinal.
.
.
Brrr!
.
I like that last photo, an action shot, sort of. We have deer around here, but I rarely get a photo of them.

I only included it because that one lone deer stood still and posed.

Aww so nice to see the deer in the snow. Have you seen Blue Eyed Bambi at all?
Yes that’s one thing I can do without, the wind especially when it’s cold.

The wind is insane here. We’ve been unseasonably warm this month but not today. Ole Blue Eyes was here in December but I haven’t seen him since. They come late at night now….

We were almost 50 yesterday and it melted all the ice. Now we’re freezing with high winds. It’s nuts.

‘Snow”? What’s snow? Sounds like one of those nasty 4 letter words!

I’m with you, Rivergirl. Bring on the snow. Only for a few months, mind you – I have no desire to live in the Arctic – but cold weather with no snow and nothing to look at but dead grass is just depressing. Hate the wind, though.

The wind is the worst. It’s like it gets extra cold blowing over the snow before lashing into us. The deer look good in the snow.
