Gather round boys and girls, it’s time to scientifically examine what happens after we die with select excerpts from book #3 in my ever expanding Mary Roach collection.
.

.
You loved Stiff. You were pleasantly revolted by Gulp. So let’s pull back the veil of death and ponder the age old mystery.
.

.
Important questions, all.
.

.
In case you’re wondering… reincarnation nation is India. And since they have the highest number of people who claim to be born again, that’s where Mary began her research.
.

.
This does not bode well. Cheese vagueness is a terrible thing.
.

.
Au contraire Mary. I think the P.P. designation is damn near perfect.
.

.
If that’s not definitive proof of reincarnation, I don’t know what is.
In reading this book we learn culture and religion have a lot to do with the acceptance of past lives, as this ancient Hindu text demonstrates. Live a good life? You will be rewarded. Live a bad life? Well… that’s where things get interesting.
.

.
An eternity of vomit eating?
No one wants that.

This one showed up in the library donations about the same time as King Arthur. Best library ever, cutest librarian, too. I’m pushing through a reading challenge so It’s back in the queue for a bit. Stiff was so good I almost want to visit the UT body farm to see the haciendas.

Stiff was the best of the three I’ve read so far, hands down.

Funny she should start with reincarnation. It touches on what I experienced during NDEs. But these examples make a mockery of it. It is not the personality that reincarnates, but the life spirit.
It’s okay if you think I’m crazy. Most do.

She mocks just about everything. It’s basically her style. But after experiencing a few unexplainable things at my mother’s death bed vigil, I don’t doubt anything anymore.

I actually blogged a series about it last year. If I can find it, I’ll post a link.

They’re nothing earth shattering, just things I can’t explain. But if you’re interested… here’s the first.

I am looking on my blog right now, from back in 2017 when I first joined WP. I know I wrote them, but I cannot find them, yet. When I do, if I do, I will give you the web address. Meanwhile, just to let you know, I had two NDEs under the influence of LSD. That stops most people right there, usually. Let me know if you are still willing to hear them, please. I won’t hold it against you if you don’t.

Oh, I’m very open-minded and a believer in most things even tangentially related to the paranormal. NDEs, reincarnation, ghosts, you name it. And I’ve had my own experiences. Definitely still interested if you are able to find them.

Wow…..the cheese bit is hilarious. But I suppose of one believes in reincarnation one would be mildly concerned 😝

Believe it or not, I actually own this book. I thought it was a pretty compelling read.
Gotta say, though: if I have to get circumcised all over again every time I come back in a new body, I’d rather just stay dead. Please and thank you.
