Coastal Maine

.

After our delightfully boozy lunch at the Boathouse we took a scenic drive along the coast of Kennebunkport.

.

.

It’s a beautiful area…

.

.

Wild and windswept.

.

.

With some seriously gorgeous waterfront homes.

.

.

Needless to say it’s a little out of our tax bracket.

.

.

But with President Bush’s summer home at Walker’s Point for neighbors….

.

.

That’s not the least bit surprising.

  1. I wonder how the little people live …
… actually, I took a large sealed truck there in the late 80’s with a load I picked up near DC. They gave me a cup of coffee and a donut in the kitchen while they unloaded whatever was in it.
Near there I had my first bowl of chowda …
No matter how New Englishy the décor is in Texas, they can’t make that heavenly concoction here …

    1. The little people get pushed off the waterfront homes their families have owned for generations due to high taxes from the new multi million dollar construction next door. This is exactly what happened to my inlaws. Very sad….

      1. So you’re talking about food here, and I might argue, but not this time. I don’t think the technique is especially arcane, it’s the ingredients, or ingredient. I can make it creamy, clammy and very very tasty, but canned clams are just like chopped up pencil erasers. I’ll wait.

  2. Looks like Montauk, Long Island. My aunt had a place similar to these in Westhampton and sold awhile ago. It is amazing the monies some people collect along the way and the homes. Too much but nice to visit.

      1. Lucky, that. After my father died my mother battled the bottle and squandered all the money. I ended up supporting her at the end. And lord knows we supported half my husband’s family. Everything we have, we worked for.
