The search continues.

The husband and I hit another antique store yesterday, but failed to find any appropriate vintage beer or whisky crates for my vinyl collection. (okay, I did see a Budweiser crate but even I have standards)

I’m afraid the search is proving fruitful in only one aspect.

.

.

And that’s enlarging the number of albums I need to house in the first place. But I was happy to find 13 of the same records I lost decades ago. A few covers are in rough shape, but for $2 each I won’t complain.

And lest you think the husband came home empty handed, he found a treasure for the man cave as well.

A wood bound mixed drink recipe book from 1941.

It’s a hoot and has some interesting drawings.

As with anything the husband purchases, he always tells me to look it up and see if he paid too much.

This was the first listing I saw.

.

.

Yikes! I was impressed he only paid $15 until I saw a bunch of others ranging from $20-100.

Good luck wdan1351. If you manage to sell it for that price? Please let me know.

  1. Certainly some old musical treasures there. Do they all play well?
I looked up the Mamas and Papas album. Nice to see members of the Wrecking Crew were named in the credits. I just happened to post the documentary movie of the Wrecking Crew early this morning. It is a valuable piece of Rock n Roll history that needs to be known more widely. It totally changes the narrative we were given in the late 50s and through most of the 60s.
Now I have to follow up with the Funk Brothers movie, the Other musical secret of that era: the music behind Motown.

    1. I’ve played most of them and so far so good. As for the Crew, you’re right. They were the session musicians for sooo many bands. Leon Russell, how could you lose?

  2. Y’all got some very cool finds. I still have my vinyl…somewhere. I’ve always wanted to do a wall of album art…unfortunately, I’ve run out of wall space. I do miss the warmth of vinyl records and I don’t mind the occasional pop or scratch. Sounds even better after a cocktail or two. M

  3. I’m glad you scored some new/old vinyl, I’ve been trying to find some of the ones I lost online. And haven’t had any luck because the ones I did find are pretty pricy. That book is hilarious, glad the hubs found something for the man cave, its perfect!
