Our bird bath has been a Godsend to wild creatures this dry, drought ridden summer. Birds bathe and numerous animals drink… like this thirsty little fellow.
.

.
Now that the random apple tree has matured we’re seeing a lot more squirrels.
.

.
The bath is simply a jump away.
.

.
And perfect on hot days.
.

.
As is splooting in the shade.

Our bird bath is visited by bees, wasps and red squirrels but unfortunately tiger mosquitoes use it to lay their eggs!

Not good. Ours is emptied by bathing birds three times a day. No time for bugs to lay eggs.

Inspired by your bath set-up, we’re talking about installing one at our residence. We’re curious to see who all shows up.

The deer drink from ours. And the raccoons like it as well.

Splooting! I remember that from your previous post. I have not used it in conversation every day for several days in a row like I should, so I wouldn’t have remembered it if you hadn’t mentioned it. Thanks for using it again. Just do it every couple of posts and I should have it memorized by the middle of 2023.

I can’t promise anything. It will be tough to work it into conversation mid December… but I’ll try.

Well at least it’s not Big Red, lol.

With the drought you’re having, you should put out a kiddie pool for the animals that can’t reach the bird bath ~ the foxes, deer, possum, raccoons, skunks, turkeys, etc.
Wild America would come knocking!

I do put large containers of water. And they love it.

Here’s “In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree” by someone you surely remember, but not as young as in this clip:

I regrettably left both bird baths behind when we moved, but I figure, it’s not like I’m going to have a use for them here in the apartment (and they’re cheap enough to buy new).

We’ve been filling our bird baths several times a day. We have ours on the ground. Yours looks good in the newly walled-in area.

I really need a new one. An unidentified creature knocked it over and broke it last year. The bottom is chipped and held together with gorilla glue.

That’s why ours are on the ground 😉
