If there’s one thing that struck me as we wandered around this grand old dame of a resort…
.

.
It was the feeling that it wanted you to sit, relax and simply… be.
.

.
Everywhere we went there were long porches with ample seating. Upstairs, downstairs, all with fabulous views.
.

.
On top of the east wing?
.

.
An outdoor bar with covered porch…
.

.
And open deck Adirondacks.
.
.
Around another bend?
.

.
Another covered porch with ample seating. If you can’t find a chair here, there’s something seriously wrong with you.
.

.
Around back? The pool, complete with mountain view.
.
My dream home would definitely have a wrap around porch. I love all the inviting view, complete with where to sit. I must say that pool looks just as inviting as cold as it’s gotten here!

I’ve always wanted a wrap around. We have a useless tiny front porch, an entryway porch to the kitchen, an open back deck and a big farmers covered porch on the barn… but no wrap around.
Maybe someday.

Love the images. Why do we fight relaxing and simply being. At least I know I do. I fight it and sometimes it’s the best thing for me. Thanks for the reminder.

I would like nothing more than to be able to talk my husband into kicking back on a porch and breathing deep. The man always wants to be on the move…

It’s built into us. At least for me. I can sit and relax . . . but first I need to accomplish a few things. Get them knocked off and then I’ll relax as long as my wife wants. Ha, ha. Good luck with that goal!

Ya gotta “Just do it!” See an empty chair somewhere? Put your ass in it! That was how I started. Now I can relax anywhere. And still get things done between periods of just being me.

My spouse is always too interested about what’s around the next bend to enjoy the space he’s in for long.

I was like that once. Now my health is so bad I have no choice but to relax whenever I can wherever I am.
The hard way is the worst way to learn anything, though it is one hekkuva good teacher!

My husband had triple by pass five years ago. You’d think that would be lesson enough.

You would, but, maybe he enjoyed the attention from all the young nurses and he wants to do it all over again… (Or maybe not!)

Definitely not.

Yes, you gotta be in the present. Good advice.

But will you consider it? Only you know the answer to that.

That place look enormous. If I go there, I’m setting aside a couple of days to walk from one end to the other.

There’s a lot to explore. Pace yourself…

I’ve never had any sort of front porch whatsoever, so this would be a total dream for me.

No front porch! But where do you do your pondering…?
😳

It looks like you could just meander around and, when you feel the need, pop a squat and enjoy the view. If someone comes and sits near you, you can get up and find another spot. 🙂

There are definitely enough chairs to go around.
