.
We went to dinner with my husband’s niece and her fellow last week. She’s finally starting to get over her mothers death and that called for a drink… or 12… so we took them to my favorite cocktail destination The Blind Pig.
.

.
I started with a pear Mojito and the most delicious mushroom Arancini I’ve ever had.
A few cocktails in, niece’s significant other got curious about what appeared to be breakfast in a glass.
.

.
The girls were disgusted, the bartender was surprised and kept asking, “Are you sure?”….but the husband egged him on (I’m groaning at that one myself) and said he’d pay for it … so a bacon and eggs was ordered.
.

.
Blech.
🤢
.

.
The women refused to try it but the guys polished it off… though I can’t say they enjoyed it.
And though our bill was a bit cocktail heavy…
.

.
There was food as well.
I just forgot to photograph it.
🍸
.
So a raw egg cocktail eh ?

That looks like something you would drink if you had something to prove.. Not that anyone does, but that’s how it looks.

I don’t have anything to prove. My drinking creds are well documented….

Years ago my mother made eggnog with raw eggs. That was before you could buy it in a carton. Hers was much better.

I’m not an egg person so I’ll pass either way…

Who designed such a revolting drink?

No idea. They probably don’t want credit…

Okay there are raw eggs in Caesar dressing (if made correctly). There’s the Golden Gin Fizz and the infamous Prairie Oyster to cure all hangover ills. I’m not a fan of those either but it’s not as uncommon as one may think. I want to know what that “Cake by The Ocean Vodka” was/is, because come on, cake and vodka? lol. Those mushroom arancini look really delish!

Cake By The Ocean was the name of the cocktail which was made with whipped cream vodka. Too sweet for me, that was one of the niece’s drinks.

I bought a bottle of bacon vodka once. It made a decent bloody mary, but that’s about it.

I love bacon, but not in my alcohol.

Have you never enjoyed a strip of bacon in a Bloody Mary?

I don’t care for tomato juice so it’s not my cocktail of choice.
