.
My new garden bed is starting to fill in…
.

.
But I wish the woodchucks hadn’t eaten all my mid summer blooms. So much for strategically timed planting.
.

.
The geraniums are doing well.
.

.
I was a bit late getting these in due to my mystery illness, but they’re flourishing now.
.

.
Our Japanese Spirea surprised me this year by branching off in white on the right side.
.

.
It’s always been solid pink…
.

.
But not anymore.
.

.
Close up of its fuzzy blooms.
The bees love it.
.

.
And yes, that’s one entirely too chill red squirrel.
.
I remember the series of posts when you were building that garden bed. It’s looking pretty good. I love the blossoms, especially the close-ups. I think the squirrel knows how you feel about her.

I had riots of color in that bed, until the woodchucks got hungry.

At least you found some things they don’t like.

Beautiful flower and I know how much you dislike squirrels but that pose is irresistible… It’s too cute!

They are cute, but so destructive they’re hard to like…

Flowers change color like that usually due to changes in the ph level of the soil…

Yes.
It was just odd to see it change after 20 or so years…

Ha! No thanks! I’ll stick with my coyotes, bobcats and chipmunks.

That’s looks beautiful! Very organized and manicured, perfection. I, on the other hand, have been pulling nasty goats head thorn and creeping Charlie weeds from the dirt, yes dirt, in my front yard all darn morning. Someday I aspire to have a nice garden of flowers like you…..someday 🤔.

Thank you. It’s a lot of work, but I enjoy it.
Creeping Charlie is the bane of my gardening existence. I hate that evil weed! No matter how much you pull it keeps coming back.

I just dropped $250 on perennials for a small portion of my garden after digging out a bunch of iris that needed thinning. I know BOAT

Oops, continuing on…. I know BOAT stands for “blow off another thousand.” There has to be some kind of similar meaning for GARDEN.

I can’t ever recall seeing a squirrel lean back like that while in the “classic pose.” What exactly do you have in that garden?

Nothing mood altering..
That I know of.

I love the vibe that squirrel is giving off—like, he don’t care about nuttin!
Your flowers are so lovely—so many bright, vivid colors. I remember when your garden bed was walled/rocked in. It looks spectacular!

Gardening in Maine is hit or miss… short growing seasons, hard frosts, summer droughts. Add hungry woodchucks and lots of my plantings were toast.
