We have a new backyard visitor who is showing up every day, twice a day.

He’s a juvenile Coopers Hawk who has discovered our backyard bird feeders.

We’ve named him Henry and he’s quite content to hang out in the gardens and wait for a meal to fly by.

He’s young, and his hunting skills need some fine tuning.
Honestly? He misses more often than not.

But he’s one very chill little dude.
.
.
In other news, we seem to have a squirrel ready for the stripper Olympics.

I say this because his pole acrobatics are quite impressive.

That’s a 9.5 right there.

That hawk looks magnificent! I love birs of prey. So majestic, with an evil looking ‘F*** you glint in their eye!) 😉
We had a squirrel used to climb up the bird feeded pole and stel the bird food. So I greased it wit butter. It was so funny seeing it jump up, then slide back down again.
(Then my cats discovered they liked butter and stretched up to lick off as much as they could, while the squirrel sat by and watched before slipping them a slice of cooked ham in gratitude. 😉

I don’t mind feeding the squirrels. They’re quite entertaining to watch.
And we get a nice assortment of hawks. They like our bird feeders for a different reason.

We tried that once. Had a motion activated camera on the tree but some critter destroyed it. Guess they wanted privacy…
