The husband had to move my car, set up the ladder and climb into the garage crawl space to reach the leftover vinyl siding recently.
When he got up there? A surprise.

There was a suspicious hole in the siding box.

And nesting material strewn around the opening.

I’m sure it’s flattering to be famous and have things named after you. Buildings, cars, fashion trends, cocktails …. all good. But millipedes?

You have to wonder if an old boyfriend is behind that.

Now that’s my kind of fundraiser! A 12 year bottle of Pappy can go for $1,400-$2,000 a pop. Even I’d grab a hammer for that….

These people are so clueless it hurts. They have no idea the trouble they’ve invited into their home… because trust me, those oh so cute little darlings won’t be satisfied with the porch railing for long.

When I noticed something on the floor…

Knowing that he used that color insulation to block off the sliding barn doors during transformation, we investigated outside…

And found proof that my nemesis is back.

That little red bitch of a squirrel was back… and building (yet another) nest.

A few pokes of the broom handle later…

And down it came.
That’s the fourth nest in a year and a half. Two in the house, two in the barn.

She’s persistent, I’ll give her that. But she’s also too damned destructive to let move back in.
Been there, done that. Still trying to fix the damage.

Yes, she’s still here.

Though thankfully this year she’s keeping her distance and not nesting in our attic.

How long that will last probably depends on how long her memory is.

Forcibly knocking her children out of my gutter’s downspout was traumatic I’m sure.

I’m hoping she took up residence in the neighbor’s new tree house. I mean come on, it’s a house. In a tree. What does she want… an engraved invitation?
