.
Because my husband never likes to rush things he moved around to the back side of the baby barn yesterday to complete the gutter installation…. 12 days after he did the front. Better late than never is his middle name.
.

.
Did things go more smoothly on the flip side?
.

.
They did not.
.

.
Miscalculation on length left him with two short pieces instead of the one long piece he needed which meant yet another trip to Lowes for additional connectors. Sigh.
Was the finished gutter line straight and true?
.

.
Not quite, but it doesn’t leak. That’s probably as much as I can hope for.
And if you’re wondering just how dry it’s been here?
.

.
Dry enough for the husband to a pan under the downspout to catch the small amount of rain we got last night.
Please note the green you see is all weeds. Most of the grass is still brown.
😕
.
If not for weeds, the lawn here would not be nearly as green as it is, but we do have a decent amount of green where the sun doesn’t get to it all day. Clover also takes up residence in those areas. It looks like His Lordship is investigating the measurement of those gutter lengths as well…I trust he was second in command on this project?

His Lordship only investigated after work was paused. He’s a skittish noble soul…

I hope my visit to “the other side” goes much more smoothly. It would be a pity to live as long as I have on the up and up, and end up down below. 😉

Even for Florida in summer, we got more than our fair share of rain this afternoon. Wish I could send you some for the lawn . . . and to check out the new gutters!

We had a little shower the other day. Not nearly enough but very welcome.

Yeah if it weren’t for all the damned weeds I’d have a semi-greenish/brown lawn too. I see you have you fair share of that goddamned weed, Creeping Charlie. I hate that fucking thing, and it keeps popping up everywhere. And more of it should pop up again since it started raining here again this morning. Well at least he completed the project instead of leaving it for another couple of weeks. I see His Lordship was out inspecting the work, lol.

Creeping Charlie is the bane of my gardening existence. Once it starts, you never get rid of it…

Twelve days isn’t that horrible. Is it? I mean, it could always have been longer.
I wish I could send you some of our daily heavy monsoons!

Our ground probably can’t handle that right now, but I’ll take some gentle showers.

Our weeds are doing fine, as well. The good news is, the bunnies love them. A gutter that doesn’t leak is job well done in my book.

And to be fair, the building is far from plumb.

That is funny. My middle name is “I’ll get to it when I am damn good and ready”, or “then you do it” for short.

Nice.
My middle name is “if you don’t do it, I’ll hire someone”. That usually gets him moving.

The topic of gutters makes me grumble. We’ve had our troubles with them. Yours look better than the ones we paid big bucks for. Happy they’re now in place

They’re a bit of a nightmare to install, but doing it ourselves does save a lot of money.

Ah yes, Creeping Charlie (it may have different names in different states). Nothing can kill that stuff – not drought, not a flood, probably not the apocalypse.

It will outlive us all.

I feel almost guilty over the 2+” of rain we’ve had today…

Not necessary. I’m glad someone is green…
