.
She’s still here.
.

.
That red demon spawn of a rodent…
.

.
And she’s been manically searching for a way in.
.

.
Of course all that scampering about searching for entry is tiring…
.

.
So sometimes, she just chills.
.

.
🥴

Railing section number one was complete thanks to my brilliant painters tape idea so we moved on to number two…
.

.
The unfinished staggered stone making a nice tool shelf.
.

.
It’s really starting to look like something now.
.

.
More like a porch and less like a disaster zone.
.

.
Of course the husband wouldn’t listen to me at the beginning when I told him the height he chose was wrong. I wanted it a few inches higher, but no… he knew best.
.

.
Which means the yew bush on the far right completely blocks the first railing section from view.
🥴
.

.
Two down, two to go…
.
.
You won’t get paid, but my undying gratitude should be reward enough.
.

.
This is an easy one for me….
Nurse/doctor.
I’m not good with open wounds, serious illnesses, and bodily fluids. Sure, I’ll pamper you through a cold and bring you an ice pack for that sprained ankle but when the husband had a gaping hole in his stomach from a post op gall bladder removal infection that needed to be swabbed out with antiseptic every day for a week? We had to drive to the clinic each morning because the first time I tried to do it I almost vomited into the incision… and that’s the opposite of disinfecting.
🤢
How about you?
Which profession should you avoid at all costs…
.
.
Lord Dudley Mountcatten spotted the red menace on his walk the other day and ran at full speed into the woodshed.
.

.
He climbed up the wood and searched…
.

.
But didn’t come close to catching her.
.

.
He’s just not fast enough for that troublesome witch.
.

.
🥺
.
.
Our new blue couch was proving just as difficult to move into the house as our old behemoth sleeper sofa was to move out.
.

.
Up and over was the only way to turn the corner.
.

.
We bought from a family run business and the two sons were the delivery men.
.

.
Though I should say boys, they’re not even old enough to drink the tip money we gave them.
.

.
New (blue) furniture.
.

.
I’m usually a neutral girl so this flies against my norm.
.

.
But it adds a nice pop of color and we’re pleased.
.

.
😊
.
.
As previously reported, we now own a vintage buckboard/carriage/old thing.
.

.
It’s prominently placed on the lawn in front of the barn for optimum viewing, because… that was the whole point of buying it.
Right?
.

.
Well, not quite.
.

.
Because every evening about 7:00, my husband pushes it in the shed.
.

.
Every evening, and every time rain is forecast… or the ground is wet, or the wind is blowing or the frog in the field across the street is croaking too loudly.
You get the idea.
.

.
Putting it in the shed is not an easy chore. It’s a really tight fit…
.

.
And something tells me the damn thing is going to spend more time inside than out.
🥴
.
.
Our new den furniture has been slated for delivery so it was time to move the old stuff out.
This a weird room in our home as it’s longer than it is wide. It houses our treadmill and a leftover sleeper sofa and recliner from when we were first married… 40 years ago!
It’s old, cat scratched and needed to go.
.

.
Which was easier said than done.
.

.
Ever try to move one of those ancient sleeper sofas?
If not, I don’t recommend it.
.

.
A friend came to help my husband and as soon as they started, it got stuck.
.

.
Heavy? Yes.
Awkward? You betcha!
.

.
Making it down the hall, they tried to pivot into the living room but the sofa said… not so fast boys.
.

.
Up and over was the only way.
.

.
What a nightmare.
(Towel was there so they didn’t scratch the new flooring)
.

.
We were all glad to see this beast make it out the front door….
.

.
And onto my husband’s truck.
.

.
The recliner was easy in comparison.
.

.
Bye bye old…
.

.
😉
.
.
Our buddy is back.
.

.
And has taken over the bird feeding station.
.

.
Needless to say the other birds disappeared quickly.
.

.
As did the red menace which is a real shame.
.

.
She’d make a tasty hawk nugget.
.

.

.
This is a short boring video, but I did catch him flying off so there’s that.
.
.
😊
.
.
Every once in a while I have a good idea.
And every rarer once in a while my husband has to admit it.
.

.
He’d been out front struggling with those silly balustrades popping in and out of the top rail for an hour on the second frustrating day when I said “Why don’t we just tape them in place until we get them lined up?”
.

.
He grumbled and swore it wouldn’t work, but ya know what?
.

.
It was the perfect solution.
.

.
Time consuming, yes.
.

.
But we lined those babies up and snapped that top rail on smooth as butter.
The hardest part was him admitting it was my idea.
🤣
.
.
There it is…
.

.
Our fully cocooned Polyphemus moth on a piece of stone siding on our not quite finished front porch.
.

.
According to my research, it will hatch in two weeks.
.

.
I’m really hoping it’s a male.
.

.
Because that’s one bad *ss moth!
👍
