This is the way we’ve been spending most of our evenings during the summer of Covid-19.

Barn porch sitting with an adult beverage…. or two.

Sometimes there’s a sunset.

The deer usually wander up for a treat.

And bark at us if we’re spotted.

Which, all things considered… is pretty frickin’ rude.

We are the treat suppliers after all.

I don’t need a formal thank you note, but a little common courtesy would be nice.

Ahh….
Beautiful……..and the sitcom “leave it to be….deerie”

As long as you don’t call me Beav, I’m okay with that.

and the neighbors are so far away…nice…reminds me of the mountains where I grew up…..although a condo on the beach sometimes desolate is nice also.

We’re actually near the coast, though you wouldn’t know it from our porch. My dream home is a place with giant windows (and a giant porch!) in the mountains. Peaceful, quiet and surrounded by nature.

Excuse me!! You are having your ‘adult’ beverage on land that was theirs before you were even born!!

True.
But a little gratitude for the spread I lay out every evening really isn’t too much to ask.

We are spending more time there than usual. Guess Covid is good for something.

Beautiful and tranquil place you live in. BTW, I will help you wait for that thank you from the deer.

What a wonderful view from your Papa Barn! Of course the deer might be barking for an adult beverage or two, no?

Your summer evenings closely resemble mine…but what’s up with “barking” deer? Ours don’t make a sound.

If ours feel threatened? They literally bark. It’s bizarre.

I’ve never heard of that before. Must be their Northeast mentality.

This is just what ours do. Stomp their feet and bark.
