Don’t get excited, I’m not talking about me. That ship has sailed.
And burst into flames and sunk.
I’m talking about woodchucks, and from the look of our resident Momma…
.

.
I’d say baby chuck sightings are getting close.
.

.
😊

It’s taken a few days of sniffing and tentative exploring but I think Lord Dudley Mountcatten has finally accepted the new furniture.
.

.
Cats are not fond of change, much like my husband… which is why our new furniture looks a lot like our old…. but I think they’re both coming around.
.

.
He doesn’t look stressed here.
.

.
And before long he was assuming his favorite position with his favorite person.
.

.
Please note that’s not me.
.

.
The last picture?
Proof positive he’s accepted the new ottoman.
🤣
.
.
A few weeks ago we had two young woodchucks fighting over food
.

.
Now?
.

.
Momma chuck is back and the fighting is over.
.

.
Matter of fact, since she’s arrived there’s no one to left to fight.
.

.
The teenagers have left the building…
.

.
And momma reigns supreme.
.
.
Excuse the noise of my dryer tumbling in the background.
.
.
Now that the weather is warming and the grass is turning green…
.

.
Our resident woodchucks are showing up more often.
.

.
There’s not much for them to eat yet and since I want them to leave my garden beds alone?
.

.
The buffet is being laid.
.

.
😉
.
.
It’s hard to tell, but I think Momma Chuck is back.
.

.
I’ve seen two smaller guys around the property the past few weeks, but Momma’s always had a different look.
.

.
And I think this is her.
.

.
If we see babies under the barn next month I’ll know for sure.
.

.
😊
.
.
We’ve had nothing but rain and gloomy skies for weeks… so when the sun finally put in an appearance?
.

.
We were rewarded.
.

.
This was a strange rainbow as it was quite low on the horizon…
.

.
But it certainly didn’t dim the beauty.
And since I was standing at the open back door to take pictures, I asked the husband to keep watch over His Lordship so he didn’t slip past me to freedom.
.

.
You can guess how that went.
.

.
Though it did provide me with a nice photo of my two favorite men under a rainbow.
❤️
.
.
Our empty space was filled yesterday.
.

.
And the arrival of our new dining room set was a definite hit with the furry four legged family member.
.

.
He sniffed, he circled, he explored….
.

.
Sometimes a little too much.
It seems like every time I left the room, this happened…
.

.
Which is odd because His Lordship is very well trained not to jump on tables and countertops.
Until now apparently.
.

.
Oh…
That can’t be good.
🥴
Better pics later.
.
.
The snow is gone, the grass is starting to green and with the promise of spring…
.

.
Fox.
.

.
Two foxes to be exact. Though they do tend to blend into the background this time of year.
.

.
One under the bird feeders…
.

.
And one hanging out in the back forty.
.

.
We had a mated pair last year which makes me wonder if they’ve returned or thus is a new couple.
💕
.
.
All you need is a tardigrade.
.

.
The dude needs a manicure, but okay… I’m listening.
.

.
At the rate my body is currently declining I would love to pause my biological clock. And if possible, reset it to age 29 when all my joints didn’t creak.
.

.
That is one freaky looking fellow….
And is it me… or does he remind you of Robot in Lost in Space as well?
.

.
Impressive, no?
.

.
Sure, not physically. But the little guy could have survived Chernobyl… props for that.
.

.
Sign me up for that flick!
.

.
I have to admit the more I look at this critter …. the more I like him.
.

.
I mean, come on….
He’s smiling.
.

.
Admit it, you want one.
🤣
.
.
During our last N’or Easter, my poor choke cherry tree took a hit.
.

.
It’s an old ragged tree that was here when we moved in 20 years ago, but the blooms are lovely in the spring and the cherries are bright red in the fall… even if they are inedible.
.

.
With all the rain and melting snow we’ve had, the high wind busted off quite a few limbs.
.

.
So my husband went out to deal with the mess.
.

.
And disturbed a few woodchucks who were sunning themselves on the stone wall in the process.
.

.
It’s been a while since my husband has fired up the chain saw.
.

.
And the fumes were toxic.
.

.
But once the air cleared, my poor tree got a trim.
.

.
And the wood shed got a pile of cherry.
.

.
🥺
