I love a lot of things about living where we do, but the geographic placement of our house has to be at the top of the list. In the evening we have lovely sunsets out our front door, and in the morning?
.

.
Well…
.

.
The sunrises over the back deck aren’t too shabby either .
.

.
😊
.
Note- photos were taken the beginning of last week, after our largest snow dump of the season. 4 inches, big whoop.
We’re back to green grass now, which is crazy wrong for winter in Maine.
.
.
Our morning sunrises never fail to disappoint.
.

.

.
It’s a beautiful way to greet the day.
.

.

.
😊

.
No words.
.

.
Just a morning view of our sunrise…

❤️

I never used to be an early riser. But when you live with a man who’s gotten up at 4:00am for the past forty years sleeping in is impossible.
.

.
Of course getting up at the crack of dawn does have its perks…
.

.
Sunrise being one of them.
.

.
Sometimes it seems as if our backyard is on fire.

Let’s take a look at what’s been clogging up my photo files.
.

.
My pickle algorithm has been on vacation lately, but this showed up the other day. I was hoping it was a joke… but sadly it does exist.
.

.
I totally need this. And actually already have a little makeup case like the one in her left hand. Unfortunately mine is a lovely shade of mustard instead of green.
.

.
This poem always gets me.
😰

.
From my local FB page.
.

.
Never a dull moment here.
.

.
One thousand and two uses.
.

.
These aren’t my pictures but they were taken in Maine and are too fabulous not to share.
.

.
I’ve never seen a sunrise or sunset like this.
.

.
There’s probably a meteorological term for it, but all I can say is… wow.
.
.
In case anyone was wondering I didn’t buy one of those pooping animal calendars I blogged about earlier, no…
I went with hedgehogs instead.
.

.
Life is good.
.

.
And if you’re Lord Dudley Mountcatten, it’s better in a box.
.

.
Yes, the wicked witch of the west in the original Wizard of Oz movie, Margaret Hamilton, lived in Maine…. and now they’ve written a play about her.
.

.
Another beautiful sunrise at Casa River.
.

.
It almost makes waking up early worth it.
.

.
No.
And again, no.
.
.
It wasn’t for me as I spent a miserable night wide awake and trying to get comfortable with sciatic pain.
.

.
I’m never sure how I tweak that particular nerve, but boy it lets me know when I do.
.

.
Rolling out of bed this morning was a slow painful process…
.

.
But I definitely had a gorgeous view.
.

.
I’m off to sit on an ice pack and crunch some Tylenol.
.

.
Hope your day is starting a little better.
.
.
I never used to be an early riser. When my husband and I were first married you’d rarely see me out of bed before 8:30.
Now that I’m older and hopefully wiser, I greet the dawn more often than not.
.

.
It rarely disappoints.
.

.
❤️
.
.
Mother Nature is a beautiful thing and sometimes she rewards my insomnia with an early morning show.
.

.
When the dawn sky looks like this in our backyard, I don’t mind being awake at 4:30am.
.

.
Well, actually I do…. and curse that demonic body altering thing called menopause on a regular basis.
.

.
But at least there’s an occasional benefit.
.

.
Not that it makes up for weight gain, fatigue and hot flashes…
.

.
But it sure is pretty.
