Things I don’t need.

.

I dislike Pepsi and find it sickeningly sweet.

.

.

So Apple Pie Pepsi? That’s a hard pass.

.

.

While this sounded like a cute idea?

.

.

The aesthetics leave a lot to be desired. That looks less like a mouthful of chocolate chip cookie and more like a mouth filled with…. well, never mind.

.

.

Sorry, but my cabinet doors aren’t playing loud music past 10:00 pm or yelling at their husband to pick up his dirty socks. No noise suppression is required.

.

.

First they want me to exercise with rubber bands, now they want me to wrap them around my mattress? I’ll tell you right now…. neither one of those things will be happening anytime soon.

.

.

No.

Just, no.

.

End of the (veggie) line.

.

Our final CSA harvest from the farm across the street was picked up yesterday.

.

.

Peppers, turnip, tomatillos, parsley, basil, leeks, fennel, radishes, carrots…

.

.

A fabulous watermelon I wish we’d seen more of this past summer…

And this:

.

.

A beautiful thing I had to look up.

.

.

I’d never heard of it. And after sampling a little? I was glad. Mountain meadow my *ss.

Blech! Shiso was a great big no no.

But apparently it’s very popular in Japan where they use it in sushi and drink it as tea.

.

.

Can’t say the pesto looks very appetizing.

.

.

Or whatever the heck that is. If I didn’t know better I’d say marinated dog poo on rice.

Well, to each their own. But take my word for it, it is popular.

.

.

I have no idea what that says, but yeah. I’m still going to pass.

.

CSA and a few grocery store chuckles.

.

This week’s bounty was a large one.

.

.

Tomato, squash, radishes, zucchini, beets, parsley, celery, lettuce, Italian green beans, spinach and basil.

What it didn’t have was any of the bizarre little jewels the farm advertised at their stand.

.

.

Mouse melons.

I want!

What I didn’t want was the truck I parked behind at the grocery store telling me to eat more kale.

.

.

I’m not eating any kale, and you can’t make me.

Inside the store, this item looked interesting.

.

.

I like beer.

I like butterscotch.

But then I noticed it was non alcoholic cream soda and screamed false advertising.

You shouldn’t tease customers like that. Especially during a pandemic.

You also shouldn’t display things like this:

.

.

And not expect bloggers to take pictures and chortle over how utterly wrong they look.

.

Bad idea…. really bad.

Yes.

I admit to drinking the occasional Coca Cola.

And yes.

I know it’s not healthy….

Alright, that’s disturbing.

But I probably only drink one or two a month, like dessert.

It’s sugary enough to satisfy my sweet tooth…. and hey.

If it can clean the corrosion off a car battery? It can do the same to my colon. Everybody wins.

I’m not going to get into the Coke vs Pepsi debate…

Because there’s really only one acceptable way to drink Pepsi.

And while I do find Cherry Coke acceptable now and then?

I’ve never tasted another flavor I could tolerate and have to wonder why they keep putting new ones on the market.

It’s Coke.

It has 7,000 tablespoons of sugar per ounce and two cans will put you into diabetic coma. I get it. Now leave it alone and stop trying to invent new ways for us to drink it.

(Please note this does not stop me from trying every single one. Hope springs eternal.)

The latest roll out?

Orange vanilla.

I had visions of a Creamsicle Coke!

It works for martinis… why not Coke.

How bad could it be?

Answer-

Bad.

Very, very bad.

Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

Pour it directly on your corroded car battery (or filthy toilet) and be done with it.

I wouldn’t have thought it possible to screw up orange vanilla anything, but they did.

Give it a wide berth on the grocery aisle. Tasting like radioactive waste might not be a coincidence…

It’s that bad.
