Tear down continues and as you can see, my husband is thrilled I’m photographing the process.

There’s so much more rotted wood than he originally thought …
.
.
Which means more work, not to mention money.
.
.
Thankfully I’m the one who wanted to wait for the contractor to do this job, so he can’t blame me.
😉
Did I mention there were rocks?
.
.
So many rocks underfoot, though I have no idea why. If it was to help with drainage they failed miserably as all the soil flows down from the lawn towards the house.
I have two early memories and I’m not sure which one came first or how old I was.
1. Wearing a Halloween costume that I loved. It was a frog, a one piece green jumpsuit thing with froggie feet that I apparently saw no reason to take off. My memory is hiding from my mother under a table thwarting her attempt to make me change.
🐸
2. Nap time at some kind of nursery/play school. Everyone had to bring a blanket or quilt or something to sleep on and my mother being my mother bought me a fabulously soft and thick mini rug shaped like Humpty Dumpty. It was the envy of all the other kids and some of the bratty little bastards tried to steal it. I cried, the brats had to sit in the corner and the teacher made my mother switch it for something more mundane.
I don’t do shots anymore. But back when I did, they were just that… a single shot of a single alcohol. But these days every time I turn around someone is posting shot recipes with multiple ingredients. If it has more than one? It’s not a shot, it’s a mini cocktail.
.
.
That being said, where has Key Lime Liqueur been all my life? Yum.
When we lived in NC we took a neighbor’s child under wing. She had a single mother and a disabled brother and there was never enough time or money to let her enjoy the innocence of childhood so we stepped in with trips to the zoo, circus and beach. As well as emotional support, advice, a shoulder to cry on… and love. She was the daughter we never had and we love her still.
Every year she sends my husband a Father’s Day card and me a Mother’s Day card. This year I didn’t receive one and I admit it made me sad.
Until…

There’s no way to correctly segue from a surrogate mother’s love to this…
.
.
But it popped up my FB feed and I had to do a double take.
😳
.
.
It might be tasty, but I can’t say I like the name.
🥴
Now that I’m prominently displaying the family silver in the open air, polishing is taking up a lot of time. I’m always looking for shortcuts but don’t want to damage my antiques.
Has anyone ever tried this?
I saw the video and it looked too good to be true…
Running up and down the driveway at lightning speed.

They’re cute little fellows we rarely see on our property.

A shorebird who often nests alongside fields..

The killdeer emits a shrill shriek of a call and is famous for pretending to have a broken wing and luring predators away from its nest with its supposed injury.
