Random nonsense

.

Why is it every time I clean the windows?

.

.

A drive by birding. It’s like they wait for the Windex…

.

.

Yes. That is actually the McDonalds in Freeport, Maine.

.

.

Another reason I love my state.

.

.

Do not try to remove His Lordship’s catnip. There will be consequences… and most likely, blood.

.

.

Rain. The husband’s car. And a woodchuck staying dry.

Enough said.

.

.

Rain means rainbows.

.

.

And we’ve certainly had our share lately.

❤️

.

Around the house fluff.

.

We’ve had a lot of afternoon rain showers lately and with them comes rainbows.

.

.

Too cloudy for a complete one, but with rainbows… half is just as sweet.

.

.

Required photos of Lord Dudley Mountcatten.

.

.

Seen here taking a bath with his blue whale.

.

.

Round two of flowers for the new stone garden bed out back. Fingers crossed the woodchucks don’t like them.

.

.

Family size my ever expanding *ss. These packages get smaller all the time. And if you haven’t tried the toffee flavor? Run to the store before I buy them all out from under you.

.

.

Foreground – fox.

Background – duck.

They seem to be friends now.

🙂

Random nonsense

.

Whoever said if you don’t like the weather in Maine, wait a minute wasn’t kidding.

.

.

This is what early June looks like. It’s enough to give you whiplash.

.

.

Another one bites the woodchuck dust. It was a fully bloomed stock. Graceful stalks filled with fragrant pink blossoms. May she rest in peace.

.

.

Route 1 in Wiscasset was closed last week due to an accident. Apparently the Wicked Witch was in town.

.

.

This hall closet contains coats, (spell check changed that to goats which would have been much more blog worthy, sorry) assorted LL Bean bags, a pair of snow boots, extension cords, a pillow, two blankets, a step stool, 4 umbrellas, a lobster pot and the air conditioner we just put in the window.

.

.

Since it’s always full of the aforementioned clutter, Lord Dudley Mountcatten only gets to explore it twice a year and made me wait half an hour to put all the stuff back in there.

Cats.

They’re easily amused.

.

His Lordship is a bit of a weirdo.

.

The weather is getting warmer, the grass is getting greener, and Lord Dudley Mountcatten wants to go out for a walk every afternoon.

.

.

Not to say that he actually wants to walk on the grass. No. His Lordship will do almost anything to avoid that. Nearly three acres of groomed lawn… and the wee beast sits on the concrete cover for the septic tank. WTH?

.

.

He’s a very delicate walker.

.

.

Hiding in the iris, hoping a bird will land nearby.

.

.

Get lost mom. You’re blowing my cover.

.

.

Face planting in the grass.

I have no idea, don’t ask.

.

.

Giving the pear tree a good once over, but no attempt at climbing today.

.

No need for firemen.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten was eyeing our Bradford pear tree the other day during his walkabout.

.

.

If you recall this did not end well the last time.

.

.

Because while His Lordship likes the idea of climbing trees, his experience with execution is decidedly lacking.

.

.

But the blooms must have been calling his name because up he went.

.

.

It started with a pre climb scratch.

.

.

And then a jump.

.

.

And that was basically it… because the daft bugger has no idea what to do once he’s actually on the tree.

.

.

So, yeah.

He literally just hangs there until he falls off.

.

.

And then walks off the embarrassment on the rock wall.

🤣

.

Miscellaneous snippets.

.

A little bit of this and a whole lot of nothing.

.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten … taking a break from strolling to survey his domain.

.

.

You either get it or you don’t.

My husband went to the original Woodstock, then turned around and left… saying it wasn’t his scene.

Clearly he didn’t get it.

.

.

Book banning?

Huge pet peeve.

.

.

Funny how that works.

.

.

King Eider’s is a fun pub on the coast.

Their sign is always equally as fun.

.

Tidbits

.

It’s fiddlehead season and Mainers go absolutely nuts for this peculiar green.

.

.

Basically they’re just new, unfurled fern fronds but people guard their harvest locations closely and take the secret to their grave.

.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten is still demanding his morning coffee.

.

.

Cats. They’re creatures of habits too.

.

.

The sides of Maine’s highways are turning out to be perfect places for solar farms. Panels are popping up everywhere.

.

.

In case you were wondering just how big the giant roof lobster on top of the restaurant that sells the giant lobster roll actually is.

.

Random nonsense

.

Sharing some things that made me smile.

I saw the first Baltimore Oriole of the season yesterday and rushed to fill the feeder before they move on.

.

.

They’re such glorious bursts of winged color I try to keep them around as long as I can.

.

.

Perfect for that new Stephen King book.

.

.

Because Lord Dudley Mountcatten always makes me smile.

.

.

This would definitely make me smile.

.

.

Bluebirds.

Always pretty, always look mean.

What have they got to be mad about?
