I love my state.

.

It’s a sad irony that the following post was scheduled for today. A mere 41 hours after a gunman murdered 18 of my fellow Mainers.

Our beloved state is still reeling from the shock and my area is still sheltering in place. Crazy times.

My neighbor posted this on FB today.

.

.

Another child has lost another parent. It’s heartbreaking… and no state, no city, no town can ever be immune.

We thought we were.

We were wrong.

And now… my post.

Even with all the bad luck we’ve been having trying to renovate our house, there’s no place I’d rather make my home than Maine. It’s laid back, scenically beautiful, has abundant seafood and the most craft breweries per capita in the nation.

Here are a few other reasons I love it.

.

.

That’s my kind of library.

.

.

🤣

.

.

Thanks mom.

.

.

Someday I’m going to have to drive by this woman’s house and take a peek at her gardens. Judging from the amount of flowers she gives away, it must be amazing.

.

.

Halloween is right around the corner and these are some pretty impressive arachnids.

.

.

Yes sir.

That’s a spider.

.

A real estate opportunity.

.

As you know…. Stephen King is from, and still lives in Maine. His home in Bangor is a veritable tourist attraction and people drive from far and wide just to take selfies in front of it.

But now?

.

.

You could save time and gas by purchasing a house in his neighborhood.

.

.

Imagine knocking on Stephen’s door the next time you run out of sugar while baking. Surely that’s worth 900k.

.

More Pandemic humor.

Because some things you just can’t get enough of.

This is quite true, at least for me. I’m constantly amazed at the stories on social media of how productive people are being with their forced spare time. Amazed, and a little annoyed.

Stop it over achievers…

You’re making me look bad.

It was all right there…

We just didn’t see it.

If only I had stocked up.

My dream home in Tuscany would be that much closer.

Nothing.

Not a single thing…

Things I don’t like today… Part 4.

I don’t like….

Ordering flowers over the phone for a friend who just had surgery down in North Carolina. I wanted a large, impressive arrangement and was very specific with my request. I said….

No carnation fillers.

All pink and purple.

An interesting vase… definitely no clear glass.

So what did they deliver for $160?

A clear glass vase, filled with carnations… and a few yellow roses and orange gerber daisies stuck in for no other reason than to piss me off.

$160 worth of everything I didn’t want!

I don’t like….

Ordering a pair of hard to find little batteries from Amazon that fit in an envelope.

IMG_6080

And having it come in a box.

IMG_6079

Talk about overkill.

I don’t like…

Reading Maine native Stephen King’s latest,

IMG_6133

And realizing he’s lost his touch.

This new book? Meh…

Don’t bother.

I don’t like…

Buying a tin of Altoids to keep in my car,

IMG_6137

Getting them home and realizing…

IMG_6138

They’re slightly past their prime.

2009?

Damn. That’s worse than what I have in the back of my kitchen cabinet.

I don’t like….

My husband getting called into work on a weekend because,

Some idiot doesn’t know how to steer his hot air balloon.

Oops!
