Streaking.

.

This popped up on my notification page the other day.

.

.

And knowing no one wants to see me run across a field naked, I figured there must be another explanation.

.

.

Okay then.

.

.

Thank you. I shall try to keep the inane drivel that is my blog consistently flowing.

.

.

Yeah, I post too often. Message received.

.

.

Seriously?

.

.

I think once every 500 posts would be sufficient.

.

.

Really not necessary guys.

.

.

Can you spell overkill…

.

.

Enough already!

.

.

A duck rumble

.

Our pair of visiting mallards is so cute. The male follows the female around the yard like a lost puppy and sits patiently while she nibbles.

.

.

But then….

.

.

Two rival males arrived.

.

.

He chased them, he flew at them, he put his head down and charged them but nothing worked.

.

.

They just kept moving closer.

.

.

Right after I took this picture he went full ninja duck on their ass and finally drove them off. The Mrs? She was not impressed and simply kept eating.

.

And on the 7th day…. River said thou feet shall be rested.

.

After all the hassle we had with the Barn Mahal’s leather club chairs, the addition of a matching ottoman was almost too easy.

.

.

Of course I told the husband I was ordering it online and having it delivered. No discussion necessary…. or allowed for that matter.

.

.

Two nice young men carried it to the barn, put the legs on and said they would leave me a few extra scratch guards.

.

.

Yup. That’s definitely a few…

.

Maine, glorious Maine… part 2.

.

It’s funny, but one of the most famous tourist attractions in my state is a sign.

.

.

Yes, those really are the names of Maine towns and I’ve visited all of them. Didn’t even need a passport.

.

.

I admit it, I partied heartily in many a gravel pit back in the day.

.

.

Mud season was virtually non existent this year due to the lack of heavy snow last winter. Can’t say I really missed it.

.

.

I used to gripe constantly about the cold, but with internal menopausal heating? Now I say bring it!

.

.

Yes, if you visit Maine you must have your picture taken with the giant boot at L.L. Beans. And to be honest…. it’s not just for tourists.

.

.

That’s the husband and our niece a few years back.

.

.

We took her Christmas shopping and made her pose.

😊

.

More Dudley cuteness.

.

When you chase wild turkeys from the lawn on a daily basis like my husband? You often find they leave parts of themselves behind..

.

.

For which our cat is quite thankful.

.

.

Have you hugged your feather today?

( Archaic reference to a public service announcement that used to run in the 80’s. Stop snickering, I’m old. )

.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten was not at all pleased when we put the air conditioners in the windows after a miserably hot and humid day.

.

.

He howled and batted at them and demanded their removal from his favorite bird watching perch. Sorry Dudley, but momma’s menopausal surface of the sun internal temperature requires cooling assistance. Adjust.

.

Why me?

.

Facebook’s targeted ads are up and running again.

.

.

And I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I won’t be buying one of these.

.

.

Oh, hell no.

And if that wasn’t bad enough? Lord Dudley Mountcatten got in on the act and did this as I was reading….

.

.

Put that thing away!

And in the continuing vein… Apple news decided this was a story I had to read.

.

.

WTF?

😳

.

Ducks vs woodchuck

.

The bowl of deer grain is popular, with everyone but the deer for whom it is intended.

.

.

Our resident woodchuck, (named Chuck because we’re creative that way) loves it…

.

.

But so do our new friends the ducks.

.

.

It’s first come first serve at Casa River, and no matter how much posturing and maneuvering the waterfowl did…

.

.

Chuck reigned supreme.

.

.

And even barked at them when they got too close. I’ve been known to do the same around my margaritas, so I don’t judge.

.

I love my town.

.

Let’s check in with my little country town’s Facebook page shall we….

.

.

Mainers. We’re a practical people… and this does make a certain kind of sense.

.

.

I’ve heard of the Traveling Wilburys…. but the Traveling Pigeons? Wonder if the white one is lead guitar.

.

.

Alright, so some of us are woefully out of touch.

.

.

Sadly this was from our farming neighbor across the road. He’s had an honor system bucket for over a year now with no trouble, but I suppose it was bound to happen sometime.

.

.

The wonderful part is after posting that snarky news flash, the town felt so badly they rallied around his vegetable stand and he made more money that day than what was stolen. Small towns rock!

.

.

The latest square for the celebration quilt from our local ladies.

.

.

And finally, when you need to raise money in our town?

.

.

You auction pork.

🤣
