Etsy, I hardly knew you.

.

A few years ago I was mindlessly cruising the internet and discovered Etsy. There are some fabulous jewelry designers selling on that platform and I fell down the rabbit hole quite quickly. Falling can be dangerous, not to mention expensive… so I make a point of avoiding it now.

Until Facebook decided I needed to go back and purchase this rather strange assortment of items.

.

.

Um… no.

If I can’t have an authentic mummified head from the Ptolemaic dynasty? No fully toothed polymerised head will do.

.

.

For the love of all that’s holy, no.

What the utter f*ck!

.

.

Interesting, but alas we have already built our man cave bar. For considerably fewer thousands.

.

.

All season cat shelter?

It’s a Rubbermaid tub with holes. I’ll pass.

.

.

Sure. Nothing could go wrong here.

.

.

Support your carefree jumping youngster with two eyelet hooks that are already splitting the wallboard.

No problem there.

😳

.

Random tidbits.

.

We’ve finally received some much needed rain and our lawn has responded accordingly.

.

.

The grass has started to turn green… just in time for it to turn brown in the fall…. and Lord Dudley Mountcatten approves.

.

.

Not that you’d know it by his face.

.

.

And while the grass is busy turning green, my husband is busy turning his rubber truck mat black.

.

.

Back to Black to be precise, which made me start singing AC/DC … and it totally went over my other half’s head.

.

.

Fall is here and cooler temps mean summer flowers are on clearance sale, like these sweet little hibiscus I picked up for the kitchen porch. They won’t last long… but they’re damn sure pretty right now.

.

.

Another reason to love my town. A cart full of free flowers.

❤️

.

So good I have to share..

.

I try not to over share silly things I find online, but sometimes I simply have to.

We’ve all heard stories about pet owners who resemble their dogs or cats… heck I had an elderly aunt who was a dead ringer for her standard schnauzer, mustache et al. …. but I found a post from a photographer who took this subject to a whole other level.

No captioning necessary, just enjoy.

.

.

.

Are these fabulous or what?

.

Memories.

.

Sometimes Facebook makes me cry.

.

.

This popped up on my “memories” feed the other day and I admit it made my eyes leak.

.

.

My mom passed 8 years ago but it’s amazing how fresh the grief still feels.

.

.

Sadly, the lovely tulip tree we planted did not appreciate the cruel Maine winters and was dead two years later.

Mr. White, our beautiful long haired Japanese bobtail Manx is no longer with us either.

So many reasons for leaky eyes.

.

False advertising.

.

Since his lordship destroyed his last scratching post it was time to purchase a new one.

.

.

Thank goodness it came with instructions. I’m sure I would have had no idea where to put the screw otherwise.

Sigh.

.

.

This was the picture on the box. A happy cat totally focused on exercising his claws.

In my world? Not so much.

.

.

Oh, Lord Dudley Mountcatten ran right for it when I placed it on the floor. He sniffed it, rubbed against it and laid down in front of it. What he didn’t do was scratch it.

.

.

Even after I purchased and sprayed it liberally with awesome stuff.

.

.

Though his eyes did look a trifle dilated…

😉

.

Things I like today.

.

The drought is still turning our lawn into sandpaper and killing every living thing I’ve planted… so right now? I’m liking these.

.

.

Though I’ll have to switch ‘something green’ to ‘something brown’. I’ve got plenty of those.

.

.

A duck popping spaceship? I like! Sign me up.

.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten? I always like him… though the man cave leather club chairs didn’t like his claws.. at all.

.

.

Oh yes, that’s a tee shirt I definitely like.

.

.

Keith.

If you don’t like him now, no worries. He’ll wait until you do.

.

She’s such a tease.

.

When walking his highness the other day, the little devil dashed right under the cedar tree.

.

.

He’s in there, on the left with his leash twisted around the trunk. The reason for his mad dash?

.

.

Her. That pesky momma red squirrel, chattering loudly, scrambling up and down and driving poor Dudley nuts.

.

.

The walk was forgotten and we spent his entire allotted outdoor time staring straight up.

.

.

She’s such a tease.

.

This and that.

.

Isn’t it wonderful when you find the perfect combinations? Oreos and milk, Netflix and chill, bacon and, well anything. … but now? I’ve found a new winning combo.

.

.

Exercising while intoxicated? Finally… a workout routine designed with me in mind.

.

.

Photographic proof that even though it’s over 90 degrees and two window unit air conditioners are running full blast, his Lordship must commune with nature through an open window. And no, he’s not at all spoiled. Why do you ask?

🤣

.

.

This is a photo of our local pub’s parking lot after a recent storm moved through. Mind you, we’re a lousy five miles away and didn’t receive a single drop of rain.

.

It must have been a micro burst because it was a total mess.

Meanwhile back at the Barn Mahal…

.

.

We have brown grass.

😫
