Miscellaneous tidbits and a Guinea pig taco.

.

If you’re a mushroom fan like me, this picture might make you drool.

.

.

Mm… yes please.

Titanicus fungi, the butter is melting. Come to momma!

.

.

His Lordship, completely sure he heard a mouse.

.

.

My other half is not a huge zucchini fan, but I’m thinking these could change his mind.

.

.

Amen to that ladies.

And, as promised…

.

.

While I’m not usually a fan of costumes for pets…. I admit this one made me smile.

.

A random post about mushrooms and menopause.

.

Our neighbor across the street is an organic farmer who supplies some pretty swanky restaurants. So when he found a giant chicken mushroom like this one on a tree on his property?

.

.

He harvested it and sold it for $250. That’s a fungus worth knowing.

.

.

No, it’s not cool. It’s ridiculous. Please stop.

.

.

Birds.

They live to tease Lord Dudley Mountcatten.

.

.

Just… no.

I don’t want a vacation that revolves around discussing hot flashes and bloating. That is not my idea of money well spent.

.

I shouldn’t read the news.

.

I like to consider myself well informed when it comes to current events. To be honest, I can’t help it since my husband is a news junkie and has it on what seems like morning, noon and night. But I also scroll through multiple sources on my iPhone feed. This is not always a good thing… as evidenced by an article I read the other day which concerned a Tweet about the redacted affidavit by Donald Trump Jr.

.

.

And if drawing my attention to Donald Sr.’s nether regions wasn’t awful enough… there was this:

.

.

Oh. The mental image horror!

.

.

News you can’t use.

.

Because I like to keep my readers well informed. .

.

.

This is good news. Next time the husband ignores me while watching some ludicrous old western on tv? I’m going outside to talk to the ‘shrooms.

.

.

For the love of God, why? Who would buy such a thing…

.

.

You heard it folks, move fast.

Like you have to after each and every time you eat at McDonalds.

.

.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say if you have a 36 foot yacht? You’re probably not that worried about work in the first place.

.

.

Yes, from the people who brought you How To Bake A Potato … the sequel.

Wash sweet potato.

Pierce sweet potato.

Bake sweet potato.

Riveting stuff… no?

🥴

I love my town.

.

Cruising my small town’s Facebook page today, I discovered an invitation.

.

.

I wonder if adults are allowed?

.

.

I do love a good goat encounter.

.

.

We’ve had a lot of mushrooms lately, but never one with dead tribble hair.

.

.

Teachers. They educate our children and at times, take on the role of surrogate parents.

Scooping poop should not be part of their job description.

.

Meanwhile at Casa River…

.

What’s happening here? We finally got some rain and….

.

.

‘Shrooms.

.

.

Giant ass ‘shrooms are happening here…

.

.

Like this one the husband brought in the other day.

.

.

Dead mice are also happening. And while part of me is sad it had to come to this…. the other part remembers having her car towed to the mechanic 3 times in one month because mice were nesting in the engine and chewing their way out. So dead mice? Yay.

.

.

They make me smile.

.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten? He’d much rather I ditch the poison and let the live ones in the house.

.

Well, I do love me some ‘shrooms.

.

I saw an article the other day that made me look twice.

.

.

I’m extremely environmentally conscious, so color me intrigued.

.

.

Grandma = a nice Marsala sauce?

Stranger things have happened. ( To me anyway, you might lead a normal life. )

.

.

All kidding aside, why not?

.

.

$1,350?

We paid a lot more for my father in law’s coffin… and ain’t nobody going to harvest that for risotto.

.

green. Green. GREEN!

We had a very wet spring… and it looks like we’re going to have a very wet summer as well.

Our lawn is still part swamp, numerous perennials have drowned and I am beginning to feel moldy.

At times it feels like we’ll never dry out.

But the result of all this infernal moisture is green.

Sprawling lawns of verdant green…

It took us a little longer to get Casa River in shape this year….

IMG_4866

Because as soon as the warm temperatures hit there was an explosion of growth.

IMG_4910

My pink honeysuckle was glorious and grew twice as wide.

Every single shrub is screaming for a haircut.

And the plants aren’t the only ones growing.

We have a pair of foxes with a den in our woods. They come up every evening to feed and carry pieces back to their young.

The woodchucks babies are scampering every where and curious as all get out.

These two were fascinated with the husband’s wet, smelly work boots.

No accounting for woodchuck taste apparently.

Summer may have been long in coming…

But it looks like it’s going to be an abundant season.
